There are many different jobs you can do from home, even that of babysitting. Babysitting is a job that every mother can do perfectly well. All you need to have is a love of children, and enough space for them to run around in. If you plan on running a child care service, then you need to find lots of activities for the kids. Find lots of educational toys for the children. Make a list of what the children like and dislike, and what the parents like and dislike. Offer your services to your neighbors; they will love having someone nearby. Advertise in the local newspaper or on sites like Craig’s list. Let the people know about your business, but don’t take on more children then you can handle, or you may run into licensing issues.

Candle Making

If you love crafts then a candle making business may be right for you. Of course, you need to know how to make candles, and you can let your imagination go. You can sell your candles at local trade shows, online, at flea markets etc, once your business gets going you can offer them to local gift shops and other specialty shops.

If Food is your Bag

Try chocolate making. If you love to cook and know how to make those “oh so good chocolate truffles” then use it as your business idea. You can start by selling to friends, neighbors and relatives. Later you can offer your products to restaurants, hotels and shops. You can even sell your product online.

Painting

If you are a painter and love to paint, then paint and put your work up on your walls, let your friends know that you paint. Offer free showings at local restaurants. Before you know it you will begin to sell your work. Offer your work online at sites like eBay, start a website. The Internet has opened up whole new worlds for painters.

The idea behind all of this is not to be scared of starting your own business, if one business doesn’t pan out the effort, your knowledge and your contacts usually lead to another type of business, so you will always find a way of making money.
